Just two months ago my friend Linda Hill, from LAH Travel, approached me to join forces with 8 other business women to raise funds for the Ayrshire Hospice. Linda and I had previously been asked to consider acting as Hospice Ambassadors simply to promote the work the Hospice does, but this request was something more and also a project that instantly struck a chord with me.
Our challenge was to raise £10K to build an all weather putting and bowling green at the Hospice for patients, friends and families to enjoy together as a source of therapy.
For those of you who know the story of Geraldo my dad was a very keen golfer and, when cancer took its hold, a game of putting was just about all he could manage. To have had this within the Hospice at that time would've been fantastic for him and so the challenge was on!
What we achieved in a little over 6 weeks just goes to show how the power of a few like-minded women can achieve just about anything. You can read the full story here and may I say what a privilege it was working with you all.
