Lochlea 'Ploughing Edition' 46% Single Malt Scotch Whisky
This is the 4th and final release from Lochlea Distillery in their annual series of limited release bottlings.
The Ploughing Edition (First Crop) reflects the season of Winter on the farm, when the fields are ploughed in preparation for sowing the barley seed in Spring. The icy-blue label reflects the bitterly cold and frosty Ayrshire winter weather.
Released 25th January 2023 on the anniversary of the Bard's birthday it's an exquisite lightly peat-smoked edition of Lochlea's signature whisky, matured in a combination of ex-Islay barrels and peated quarter casks.
The peat smoke stays firmly in the background with baked fruity top notes. Lingering fruit and nuttiness make this a whisky to relish and enjoy with your Burns Supper.
Also works beautifully with sea salt - maybe salty snacks or a salted caramel chocolate. Try it!
