On the 4th November 2024, Ardgowan Distillery welcomed their custom copper stills on-site! Crafted by the brilliant team at McMillan Coppersmiths, the beautiful stills were piped down the road in style before a crowd of community members, customers, local dignitaries and journalists and the Geraldo’s Whisky aficionados were honoured to be among the throng!
Toni and Ryan enjoy a dram; Max, James and Ryan explore the dunnage warehouse; Toni and James catch up with David Keir, Sales & Marketing Manager and Production Manager, Claire Stewart.
Once the stills arrived, they were formally welcomed by Ardgowan CEO, Martin McAdam and Inverclyde’s Provost, Councillor Drew McKenzie, before guests explored the site and had a glimpse of what’s to come with this state of the art distillery – the first single malt distillery in the area for 100 years!
Naturally, no visit to a distillery would be complete without a few wee drams to sample. The team caught up with the Ardgowan Team and considered how much it would cost to add a custom whisky tasting room on to the shop…
There were lots of laughs on-site when everyone wanted a photo opportunity with Max. On this occasion, both of them stepped in!

As a final treat, our “Whisky Apprentice” Ryan came back to the shop with extra stock of the new, Clydebuilt Gin and some of the exclusive Ardgowan Inverdarach Glenallachie 16 Year Old, first launched at the Ardgowan Open Day in September this year.
