"Whisky, from the whiskiest place in the world!"
A wonderfully easy drinking Campbeltown Single Malt with tastes of toffee, salted caramel and a sweet dry sherry finish and a new, classic look too. It starts off in first-fill bourbon barrels and is then 'finished' in Pedro Ximenez-sherry casks.
70cl
ABV 46%
Net weight: 1.6kg
Tasting notes
Nose: Vibrant fruit on the nose with peaches and green apples followed by vanilla fudge and spicy oak.
Taste: Sweet start and quite fat and though the alcohol gives a little tongue-tingling buzz the result is a good mid-palate weight. The dry distillery character is there still, but there is now depth to counter. Water slightly dismantles the different elements, but adds some dried mint.
Finish: Deep and dark with gentle spice and lingering peat smoke.
Glen Scotia Distillery
Campbeltown may be the smallest whisky region but it's certainly the whiskiest. There was a time when whisky virtually coursed the streets of the town. With a distillery on every corner, almost everyone in the town was involved in the creation of whisky with boats queuing in the port to carry off casks, it was known as the whisky capital of the world.
Throughout the years, all the knowledge, craft, experience and passion has been distilled into Glen Scotia, giving us an exquisite example of the classic maritime Campbeltown style.
