The eleventh edition of Glengyle Distillery's Heavily Peated Malt combines the typical citrus kick of Kilkerren with notes of rye bread and peat smoke, followed by a delicious smokey sweet palate recalling toasted marshmallows on a bonfire and finished with more smoke and a minerality to complement.

Maturation: 90% Bourbon, 10% Rye

Bottled at 57.9%

No artificial colour and non-chill filtered.

Tasting notes

Nose: In typical Kilkerran style, there is a citrus element on the nose with notes of lemon and Key Lime Pie, along with touches of toasted rye bread and peat smoke.

Palate: There are notes of toasted marshmallows and campfire embers immediately on the palate, with hints of vanilla and custard.

Finish: The smokiness carries through the finish, along with a mineral note to round off this dram.

Glengyle Distillery

Kilkerran whisky is distilled in Campbeltown, from barley to bottle at Mitchell’s Glengyle Distillery. Re-opened in 2004 after originally operating from 1872-1925, Mitchell’s Glengyle is under the ownership of Mr Hedley Wright, chairman of Springbank Distillery and descendant of Glengyle’s founder William Mitchell.
