Meikle Toir The Chinquapin 5 Year Old 48% Single Malt Scotch Whisky 70cl
"The Chinquapin cask itself has the aroma of old leather and cigar smoke, which works wonderfully well with the sweetness derived from the Bourbon casks – the combination of both casks complements our beautifully sweet peat character." - Lindsay Cormie, Warehouse Manager
Coming in at 35 PPM, Meikle Toir Chinquapin has a sweeter smoke character owing to the mainland peat from St. Fergus used to kiln the barley. After a lengthy 160-hour fermentation, the whisky has a complex character, which stands up well to ageing in virgin oak casks.

The Making of Meikle Tòir
Meikle Tòir (mee-khul tor), meaning Big Pursuit, is The GlenAllachie Distillery’s journey into peated whisky.
The journey began back in 2018, one year after Master Distiller, Billy Walker, took over The GlenAllachie Distillery. From the start he knew he wanted to venture into peated whisky, and so began the process of producing smoky spirit for the first time in the distillery’s history.
