Isle of Raasay Batch R-O2.3.1 46.4% Single Malt Scotch Whisky 70cl
Silver Award Winner at the 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition
The seventh batch (R-02.3.1) of the Isle of Raasay Single Malt is now here! As a small-batch, handcrafted distillery there will always be slight variation between each batch depending on the composition of that particular bottling. But the signature Isle of Raasay style is always apparent: a subtle, fragrant smokiness balanced with dark fruit flavours.
Two Isle of Raasay spirits – peated and unpeated – are matured separately in first fill Rye whiskey, fresh Chinquapin oak and first fill Bordeaux red wine casks. These six recipe casks marry together to create the perfect dram with real elegance, complexity and depth of character. A first of this cask combination in Scotch whisky history.
Every drop of spirit is aged and bottled in their island warehouses, supporting the local economy while maximising the influence of the Hebridean climate on their single malt whisky.
Non-chill filtered and natural colour.
ABV 46.4%
Net weight: 1.5kg
Tasting Notes
Lightly peated balanced with rich dark fruit flavours. Honey gold in colour with hints of red wine hues.
Isle of Raasay Distillery
Co-founders Bill Dobbie and Alasdair Day first met in 2013 and formed R&B Distillers with the common goal of building Scotland’s leading artisanal distiller. Focusing on local production, provenance, quality and doing things differently.
By 2015, they had identified the Isle of Raasay as providing the ingredients for the perfect dram, and planning permission to begin work revitalising the Isle of Raasay’s nineteenth century Borodale House into a state-of-the-art distillery, visitor centre, and luxury accommodation was granted in 2016.
Starting with a blank sheet of paper, they set about designing a distillery to create exceptional whisky that develops elegance, complexity, and depth early on in the maturation process and a handcrafted Hebridean gin that encapsulates Raasay’s style, character and impressive geological variety.
