Ardgowan Inverdarach Glenallachie 16 Year Old 54.2% Single Malt Scotch Whisky 70cl
When the Ardgowan team find a single cask with something truly special maturing inside, they bottle it as part of their Inverdarach brand. From the Gaelic meaning ‘where the waters meet the oak’, Inverdarach represents their promise to find and bottle the best whiskies, which all begin with water and wood.
For this expression, one of the classic 100% sherry-matured casks dating back to Chivas ownership has been given a very subtle twist: Ardgowan's whisky maker, Max McFarlane, aged it for ten months in an ex-Caol Ila hogshead. Max says: “A stunning example of the magic that can be created with great wood. We kept a close eye on this whisky, bottling as soon as the ideal level of smoke and salinity had been imparted.
