The tenth edition of Glengyle Distillery's Heavily Peated Malt combines sweet notes of icing sugar and toasted marshmallows with the familiar Kilkerran peat smoke, with the addition of sharp gooseberry and orange pulp.

Maturation: 90% Bourbon, 10% Sherry

Bottled at 57.8%

No artificial colour and non-chill filtered.

Tasting notes

Nose: Notes of icing sugar, creme brulee and custard.

Palate: The peat smoke is soft and sweet, with notes of toasted marshmallows typical of the Kilkerran Heavily Peated range. Hints of gooseberries and parma violets develop over time.

Finish: The sweetness lingers in the finish in notes of orange pulp.

Glengyle Distillery

Kilkerran whisky is distilled in Campbeltown, from barley to bottle at Mitchell’s Glengyle Distillery. Re-opened in 2004 after originally operating from 1872-1925, Mitchell’s Glengyle is under the ownership of Mr Hedley Wright, chairman of Springbank Distillery and descendant of Glengyle’s founder William Mitchell.
